Faith as explained in the Bible is simple. Do not confuse simple with easy. It is not easy, but many make it too complicated. In this case, KISS applies: keep it simple, stupid!
Advice to teachers: Explain difficult concepts like you would to a five-year-old. If a five-year-old can understand it, everyone can understand it.
BELIEF is knowing in your head that something is true.
FAITH helps you BELIEVE in things that you cannot see.
FAITH helps you BELIEVE certain things will come true in the future. This is called HOPE.
FAITH helps you BELIEVE that Jesus died and then became alive again. We say that Jesus rose from the dead.
FAITH helps you BELIEVE that Jesus did that to rescue you from your sin and death.
FAITH helps you say “Jesus is Lord” and BELIEVE that God raised Him from the dead.
FAITH helps you turn away from bad things you are doing and toward Jesus.
FAITH helps you follow Jesus. FAITH helps you stop doing bad things and start doing things that please God.
FAITH helps you BELIEVE that you will live forever with God.
FAITH is a gift from God. You cannot work for it. You cannot buy it. You cannot trade for it. FAITH is totally free.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 New American Standard Bible)
